Science Fiction Film without Film (2016)

The performance presents an idea for a Science Fiction (SF) film without making or showing the film. It uses classical idiosyncratic
elements of SF: Good vs Evil, Aliens, Technological Inventions and Apocalyptic threat to speculate on the making of the film. The performance is an abstract storytelling that explores the concept of film with its traits, but without using its essential properties. The content of the performance connects the elements of the film to philosophical concepts i.e otherness, technological acceleration, simulation, amongst others.

Digital collage of the visual research for the film. All images are collected on one single frame, displayed with a sliding mask over the
collage.

The film is proposed to begin with a (technological) accident. The diagram on the bottom screen analyses an accident in abstraction: a
phenomenological collapse of events. The live drawing of the diagram renders the unfolding of an accident step by step.

The pen points to the moment of collision and collapse of events in the accident. The diagram is used as a means to bridge an
understanding between different disciplines to surpass the difficulties in idiosyncratic vernacular.
